Candy Bars, Ice Cream and Carrots, Oh My!

"I have absolutely never eat sugar again!" Yeah, right. I'm not a Smartypants here, I will scientifically. I admire anyone who cut down on the white stuff you have in the bowl on the table, but I'm skeptical that you really, really wants to eliminate sugar from your diet. My husband actually works with a gentleman who has vowed sugar years ago, and he kept that promise - think.

We want to stay healthy, we need to eat carbohydrates, lipids (thinkFats), proteins, water, vitamins and minerals. Because of this article is a brief overview of sugar, we are only going to focus on the carbohydrates ( "carbs").

Carbohydrates are actually compounds that contain carbon and a combination of hydrogen and oxygen, which is at the same level as water. Within this class of nutrients, there are 3 categories: sugar, starch and fiber. No carbohydrate foods (one could take it for a meal) to itself is only one of these categories. Cookies and Cakesare mostly sugar with a little starch. Pasta and potatoes are especially strong, but also via optical fiber. Strawberries and beans, high in fiber, with accompanying sugar and starch.

"Non-complex" Carbs

The simplest form of carbohydrate is a sugar molecule called a monosaccharide. The three most popular monosaccharides are glucose, fructose and galactose. Glucose is what the body uses to fuel itself. It is well known, because we hear about their diabetes testingBlood sugar. They are really testing their blood sugar levels. Fructose is actually sweeter than glucose and is found in fruits and vegetables. (Yes, the carrots you eat actually full of sugar!) For all intents and purposes is found galactose with lactose (next paragraph!).

When getting two monosaccharides together, they will have as a disaccharide. This what people are talking about when they talk about simple sugars. The three best-known disaccharides are sucrose, lactose and maltose.Sucrose is simple table sugar. Lactose is the sugar, milk makes sweet and has the makers of Lact-aid very, very well made. Maltose is the sugar you can taste when you have a high starch content of food chewed and held it in his mouth. It is actually formed, because the power failed.

Complex carbohydrates

Now that you understand about these sugars, complex carbohydrates, you will find the concept easy to understand. They are simply a lot of different sugar units in the rows. Strength

Strength is to be a bunch of glucose molecules linked together. Animals store carbohydrates as glycogen, but the plants store carbohydrates as starch.
